Save on Council Registration Fees
Canine Code is proud to be one of the select training organisations approved by the Minister of Agriculture to participate in the Dog Obedience Incentive Program.
By earning a Canine Code Obedience Certificate, your dog will qualify for a lifetime discount on mandatory council pet registration.
What Does the Assessment Cover?
To pass the obedience test, your dog will be assessed in these key skills:
- Heeling or walking calmly with their handler
- Sociability with other dogs
- Staying on command (the stay test)
- Coming to the handler on command (the recall test)
- No aggression towards humans or other animals
How It Works
The Minister of Agriculture recognises approved organisations like the Ass. of Professional Australian Dog Trainers, of which Kira is the Vice president, to train and assess dogs. Once your pup completes our program and passes the assessment, you’ll enjoy reduced council registration fees for life!
Here’s the process:
- Your pup must be at least 5 months old to be assessed.
- Puppy school is a great first step! While it doesn’t qualify your dog for the certificate, it teaches foundational skills to get your pup 90% ready by the time they turn 5 months old.
- From there, we offer two short courses that include the necessary assessment to earn your pup’s certificate.
Start training today and enjoy the rewards of a well-mannered dog—and a smaller council bill!
